Why does evil seem to often attract us?

We may not be aware of it, but many of us still like watching violent movies, listening to violent songs and you may wonder why people enjoy this kind of things. I mean, why would people just sit on the sofa and watch some gore?
Isn't it because, deep inside, we all have a demonic side and we may not be fully aware of it?
